Register to Vote!

You can use Maryland's Online Voter Registration System (OLVR) or print and submit a voter registration application to your local board of elections or the State Board of Elections at any time. The application must be postmarked by the voter registration deadline in order to vote in the next scheduled election. The close of voter registration is:

Do not fax or email your application because it is required to have an orginal signature. It is encouraged to fill out the form directly from Adobe Acrobat Reader and then print and sign it.

Early Voting

For the 2016 Elections, any registered voter can vote in person before election day at the Calvert County Elections Office.

  • Primary Election: Thursday, April 14, 2016 through Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 10 am until 8 pm.
  • General Election: Thursday, October 27, 2016 through Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 10 am until 8 pm.
Absentee Voting

Any registered voter may vote by absentee ballot. Click here to go to the MD State Board of Elections website to get information and instructions.

Deadlines for requests:

For the Primary Election, your request must be received (not just mailed) by:

Tuesday, April 19, 2016, if you want to receive your ballot by mail or fax
Friday, April 22, 2016, if you want to download your ballot from the State’s website

For the General Election, your request must be received (not just mailed) by:

Tuesday, November 1, 2016, if you want to receive your ballot by mail or fax
Friday, November 4, 2016, if you want to download your ballot from the State’s website

Request an Absentee Ballot(3 ways):

  1. Click here to go online (need a Maryland’s driver’s license or MVA-issued ID card).
  2. Click here to download the Absentee ballet application (PDF) - Read the instructions, enter the required information, print the form, sign it, and return it to your local board of elections. You can return it by mail, fax, or email (scanned as an attachment).
  3. Go to your local board of elections and fill out and turn in the form.
