Synopsis: Requiring that the United States government course taught in high schools in Calvert County include a certain unit on comparative political ideologies beginning in the 2025-2026 school year; requiring the State Board of Education to adopt certain civic education standards, approve a certain civic education curriculum, and curate certain oral history resources; and requiring the Calvert County Board of Education to establish a certain civic education curriculum.

Public High Schools - Class Rank System (Calvert County Merit Restoration Act)

Synopsis: Requiring the Calvert County Board of Education, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, to measure the academic achievement of students in a public high school using a class rank system; requiring the class rank system to publicly recognize the valedictorian and salutatorian in a graduating class; and submitting the Act to a referendum of the qualified voters of Calvert County.
